Villa Mare

Villa Mare is built around a glass-walled infinity pool — the kind where the water meets a vertical pane and the ocean sits behind it — which is the feature the house is known for and the reason to choose it. Five bedrooms, ten guests, above Albufeira at Cerro da Águia.

Beyond the pool there is a wine cellar, a wine cooler, a gym, a games room with billiards and a heated pool. The ocean view runs the length of the terrace.

Cerro da Águia puts you above Albufeira and Olhos de Água with the beaches a few minutes down. Praia da Falésia — the long red-cliff beach that most people picture when they picture the Algarve — is close. The house is set up for a group that wants a striking place to come back to rather than somewhere merely comfortable.
