A riverside suite in a 300‑year‑old watermill where Joe Cocker once stayed. With 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and space for 4 guests, it offers an authentic stay on the River Coura, with stone walls, wood details and access to a private river beach. Just 5 km from Caminha and 10 km from the Atlantic. Ideal for a special getaway in the Minho region.
Named after the soul legend, this two‑bedroom stone house is part of a 300‑year‑old watermill on the banks of the River Coura. With one double bedroom and another with two single beds, it comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests. It features one full bathroom, a cozy living area, and a fully equipped kitchenette.
The granite walls, exposed wooden beams, and the relaxing sound of the river create an authentic and welcoming atmosphere, while Wi‑Fi, heating, and restored interiors ensure full modern comfort. Outside, a private table invites you to enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine surrounded by nature.
Guests have a private entrance, access to the shared gardens, a BBQ area, and a direct path to the river beach, ideal for moments of complete tranquility.
Vilar de Mouros is a peaceful riverside village in the Minho region, where the River Coura embraces the landscape and offers crystal‑clear waters perfect for swimming in summer. The property enjoys a privileged location with direct access to a stunning private river beach, where the only sounds are birdsong and the gentle flow of water over the rocks.
Just 5 km from Caminha, with its medieval center built around the Bell Tower and elegant granite square, and 10 km from the Atlantic beaches, this retreat combines nature with proximity to key points of interest. Vila Nova de Cerveira, known for its artistic energy and riverside castle, is only a short drive away. Spain lies just 20 km across the border: La Guardia, famous for its seafood conserves, is a classic day trip.
A little farther, but unmissable, Viana do Castelo, crowned by the Sanctuary of Santa Luzia, deserves a full day of exploration. Porto Airport is about 90 km away, ensuring easy access for guests arriving from abroad.
Guests have access to the entire property, including four independent houses, the private river beach, and the surrounding gardens.
Each house offers private living spaces, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
The kitchens and dining areas are available for use in each house. Enjoy the outdoor seating areas, BBQ grill, and the stunning views of the river and garden. Parking is available on-site.
Exploring the region is easiest by car: Caminha is just 5 minutes away, Viana do Castelo is 30 minutes, and Porto a little over one hour, with the A28 highway providing fast access both north and south. The Spanish border in Caminha opens the way to the Galician Rías Baixas.
The property offers free private parking for several vehicles.
For guests arriving by air, Porto Airport is about 1 hour away via the A28.
If you prefer public transport, Transdev buses connect Vilar de Mouros to Caminha, where you’ll find a train station (5 km) with direct connections to Porto.
