Carcavelos Manor House

Carcavelos Manor House has belonged to the same family since the eighteenth century, and the restoration finished in 2025 kept its word: the coffered ceilings are original, the period furniture stayed, and the bathrooms quietly joined this century.

Seven suites open onto six thousand square metres of walled gardens with a saltwater pool. Braga is fifteen minutes away; the Peneda-Gerês National Park begins almost at the gate. Vila Verde around you is working Minho countryside — vines, granite, church bells.

Mornings here are slow by design. Coffee on the terrace, a swim before the sun gets serious, and the day decided over breakfast rather than in advance.
