How many nights for a first visit?
Three nights give two full days. Five add room for Serralves and Foz; seven allow more free time or a second base in the Douro.
Do I need a car?
A city itinerary can work well on foot and by public transport. Your home’s location and the slopes along your route matter.
Porto or Gaia?
They are different, complementary riverbanks. Check your home’s location and plan crossings around your visits.
Where can I find nature?
At Serralves Park, the City Park and the Atlantic seafront in Foz.
Douro day trip or overnight stay?
A day gives a first taste. Staying offers another pace, but means choosing a base and arranging transport to your home.
Can I visit cellars with children?
Check the operator’s format and conditions. A cultural visit and a tasting have different requirements.
How do I arrive from the airport?
OPO has metro links to the city. Taxi, Uber and a booked Portugal Active shuttle are other options depending on your address.
Are all homes in the city?
The selection separates Porto from alternatives in Trofa and Amarante. Douro homes have their own regional selection.
