A river activity requires an operator to assess the route, flow and conditions. Confirm the meeting and finish points, equipment and return transport; a downstream route is not automatically gentle.
Plan a walk in Serra d’Arga around a marked route and the weather. Any guide, meal or water activity needs its own confirmation, and natural pools should not be presumed safe for bathing.
Choose a producer in the Lima valley and confirm the visit, wines included, language and transport. Harvest activities require a specific programme confirmed by the estate.
Compare schools at the beach you can reach. Ask the operator to match the session to the participant and conditions, and confirm equipment, meeting point and cancellation terms.

We suggest five nights for a first visit based around Viana: town, coast, the Lima valley and time to enjoy your home. Three nights suit a more focused escape; seven let you add a mountain day and a visit to Braga or Guimarães. These are suggested rhythms, adapted to your home’s location.
Yes. Choose a home near the centre or a station in Viana, Caminha or Moledo, combining walks with the Minho railway line. For estates, villages and mountains, a car or arranged transport offers more freedom. Check routes and timetables for your home.
You can rent a car, take a taxi or Uber, or ask Portugal Active for a shuttle proposal to your accommodation. GET BUS also lists services to Viana do Castelo and Ponte de Lima; arrange the onward journey from the stop to your home. Shuttles are booked separately, with availability and price confirmed beforehand.
For a stay centred on beaches and coastal activities, consider summer. Spring and autumn invite valley walks, gardens and producer visits; winter pairs historic towns with food and time at home. Choose the season around the kind of days you would most enjoy.
Book a visit or tasting with the producer for your dates. Harvest programmes depend on each estate and the harvest calendar. Arrange the return journey too, so you can enjoy the tasting.
Set aside a day for one area, such as Soajo and Lindoso, or a trail suited to your group. Plan the journey from your home’s address and check access and trail conditions. If the mountains are the main focus of your trip, choose a base closer to the park.
You can combine beach time, riverside walks, Cerveira’s Aquamuseum and days at your home. Choose activities around the children’s ages and interests, and check bedroom arrangements, the pool and nearby services. At beaches and rivers, follow local signs and supervision.
Choose dates and guest numbers to see availability and the stay total. Compare bedrooms, location, amenities and conditions on each home’s page. Chef services, shuttles and experiences have their own bookings and prices; ask us for a proposal for the services you would like.
Choose outings by area: the coast, Lima valley and mountains require different journeys. A coastal rail base can work without a car; inland stops need their own onward and return arrangements.

Choose a producer in the Lima valley or further north in the region, then confirm a visit directly. Tasting formats, opening and any harvest participation vary by estate and year.
Braga’s historic centre and the sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte are distinct stops. Plan the onward journey to the sanctuary and allow time for its gradients and access arrangements.
A historic city with a medieval centre and castle. Give it its own visiting time rather than assuming it can always be combined with Braga and a return to the coast in one short outing.
A separate mountain outing with different entrances, villages and trails. Choose the route first, then check access, weather and the journey from your base. Waterfalls and natural pools should not be treated as designated bathing places.
Two mountain villages on the park's western edge, famous for their clusters of granite espigueiros — raised grain stores on stilts, some four hundred years old. Lindoso also has a castle and Portugal's largest group of espigueiros, seventy of them together.
