Lima River - S. Silvestre House

Two suites, each with a queen-size bed and private bathroom, sit within a house built for calm rather than crowds. The kitchen is fully equipped for group cooking, and outside a saltwater waterfall gives the garden its own quiet soundtrack, alongside shared access to an infinity pool, outdoor dining area with barbecue, and a children's playground.

The house is in Cardielos, 5 km from the centre of Viana do Castelo, in a rural pocket of the Minho known for rolling hills and green fields. The surrounding countryside suits cycling and horseback riding, while Viana do Castelo itself holds the Basilica of Santa Luzia and a good spread of restaurants and shopping.

Days here move at their own pace: coffee at the outdoor dining table, a swim in the shared pool before the heat sets in, an afternoon cycling the lanes around Cardielos or exploring Viana do Castelo's old town, and evenings back at the barbecue with the waterfall running in the background as the garden cools.
