Vale da Raposa

<p>Vale da Raposa sits at Brejos da Carregueira de Baixo, in the cluster of small settlements behind the Comporta dunes where the houses are low and the roads are sand for the last stretch. Five bedrooms, twelve guests, a private pool and an indoor fireplace.</p><p>The house is detailed in the way the good Comporta houses are — thatch, lime, timber, and very little that draws attention to itself. The pool and terrace face the garden; the beach is a short drive.</p><p>This part of the Alentejo coast has a particular rhythm. Mornings are for the beach before the wind picks up, afternoons for the shade, evenings for a long table outdoors. The house is built around that assumption, and a group of twelve settles into it quickly.</p>
