Villa Guincho

Villa Guincho sits on the Rua da Portela do Pão above Guincho, the exposed Atlantic beach west of Cascais where the wind reliably arrives and the kitesurfers arrive with it. Six bedrooms, sixteen guests, and an ocean view across the dunes to the water.

The pool is heated, which on this coast is the difference between using it and looking at it. There is a games room with billiards, a fireplace, two workspaces, golf nearby and a terrace angled away from the prevailing wind.

Guincho is inside the Sintra-Cascais natural park, so the dunes and the pine behind them are protected and the coastline stays as it is. Cabo da Roca — the westernmost point of mainland Europe — is fifteen minutes north, Cascais ten minutes east, and Sintra over the hill. The seafood restaurants along this beach road are the reason people drive out from Lisbon.
