Casa da Madorra is a spacious, light-filled modern home set in the green hills of Paredes de Coura, in Portugal's Alto Minho region. The private heated swimming pool is available year-round, covered and protected by an automatic rolling cover. Whether you're visiting in August for the festival or in October for the autumn colours and hiking trails, the pool is ready when you are. Use of the heated pool is available at an additional cost — please enquire at the time of booking.

The Vodafone Paredes de Coura Festival, held every August on the banks of the Taboão river, is one of Europe's most beloved independent music festivals — intimate, beautiful, and just 3 km from the house.

Nature & outdoor activities

The house sits on the edge of the Corno de Bico Protected Landscape, one of the most scenic corners of northern Portugal. Hiking, trail running, cycling, and birdwatching trails begin minutes from the front door. The Taboão river beach is a 5-minute drive.

The Caminho de Santiago

The Portuguese Coastal Way (Camino de Santiago) passes nearby, making this a perfect rest stop for pilgrims or those looking to walk a stage of the route.

Nearby towns

Viana do Castelo (35 min), Ponte de Lima (25 min), Monção and the Minho wine country (30 min), and the Spanish city of Vigo (45 min) are all within easy reach.

- During the high season (May to October), the pool is maintained regularly to ensure the best experience for our guests.

- In the low season (November to April), the pool remains operational with regular maintenance, guaranteeing comfort and quality throughout the year.

- If you wish to have the pool heated, please notify us at least 5 days in advance.
